No new episodes of Motorcity has meant a SEVERE lack of new art posts on this here Tumblr account of mine! Consider this the first baby step in actually doing something about it.
My two niece’s have birthdays coming up that are only a few days apart & I usually draw them a little something special as a birthday card. Since they both like Motorcity (smart girls), I figured I’d go with a little Julie piece that would work for both of them. So yeah… here’s what I came up with.
I decided to post the drawing/inks along with the quick color passes, as I really dug the B&W version(s) - but that’s probably a bit too much for a kids birthday card without any color.
Now, I ask you… Do you think that when gazed upon (especially with the eyes of a young child), that the cat-eyed version is too weird, making it harder to instantly read as Julie?

Personally I prefer the regular version over the cat-eyed one because the black seems to balance out the picture more over the yellow but they both look great.

Wow, super cute. But the cat-eyes kinda looks were-cat, or old generation of Thundercats to me. Depends how your nieces...
