Motorcity fun facts…
This painting appeared in last weeks episode as the backdrop for the second Dude bros. shot.
I originally painted this background for episode 02-Power Trip.
The shot (among a few others) in power trip was supposed to be a random hovel in motorcity where Kanes demon cyborg dogs go hunting for the burners before finding their ACTUAL hideout.
Sitting on this hilariously designed couch was an animated version of Chris P. the creator and one of the directors of the show. Some other dude was beside him, but I forget if he was anyone who works at Titmouse.
On the wall in the background is a piece of art that looks strangely similar to our art director Antonio.
One of the fish inside the tank in the background bears an uncanny resemblance to Juno, the other half of the directing team on Motorcity.
One of the funniest things I saw when first starting to work on this show was that in the photoshop file that the layout artist Khang handed off to me, he labelled the folder with the toilet seat cushion on the couch as, “just in case it sneaks through.” Khang is the comedic genius responsible for the great many fun and funny little jokes that appear in this shot.  I was just lucky enough to get to paint them.
The scene ended up getting cut since the episode was running just a little bit long, but perhaps it will show up somewhere, somehow. (cough cough… People of Motorcity. cough)
